MEET MARIA
Maria is a lifelong Idaho Falls resident and a proud Bonneville High School and Idaho State University grad, where she earned her degree in dental hygiene. She's also a mom of seven—with five Skyline High School graduates and two more on the way. Maria has always believed in the power of education, and her love for learning is matched only by her love of family, hiking, good books, and being outside—especially near trees.What started as a commitment to her own kids’ education has grown into a mission to improve education for every child in our community. Through years of service on school parent advisory committees and as chair of the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee’s Education Committee, Maria has listened to and worked alongside parents, teachers, school leaders, and legislators. She believes that when we support great teachers and foster real collaboration, our schools thrive.Maria shares Senator Dave Lent’s vision to rethink public education—one that values critical thinking, creativity, and student-driven learning just as much as test scores. She’s passionate about local control, flexibility for public schools, and investing in high-quality teachers who inspire students to find purpose and success in their education.Idaho’s future depends on our ability to create meaningful, modern education—and Maria is ready to work with anyone who shares that vision.
